Community Guidelines

Last updated: 01/07/2024

Tripnly’s mission is to inspire travelers to discover more and make every trip count. To do this, we are aiming to prove a complete travel experience to travelers. We are building a global community where travelers can plan, book, create, share, connect and enjoy every moment of their travels on one single platform as well as monetize their content.

We are committed to maintaining a supportive environment for our growing community. Our Community Guidelines establish a set of norms and common code of conduct that provide for a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

At Tripnly, we prioritize safety, diversity, inclusion, authenticity, expression and inspiration. We encourage travelers to discover the world around them. We prize the global nature of our community and strive to take into account the breadth of cultural norms where we operate. We also aim to cultivate an environment for genuine interactions by encouraging authentic content on Trinply.

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the different points of view that create an authentic, safe and inspirational environment for everyone. That’s why, we created the Community Guidelines so you can help us foster and protect this amazing global community. By using Tripnly, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Service. We’re committed to these guidelines and we hope you are too. Also, we proactively enforce them using a mix of technology and human moderation and aim to do so before people report potentially violative content to us. Overstepping these boundaries may result in deleted content, disabled accounts, or other restrictions. We also encourage our community members to reach out to us through Messenger in the Help Center to report any content or account they believe violates our Community Guidelines.

We will remove any content – including photo, video, trip, comments, links, or other text – that violates our Community Guidelines. Individuals are notified of our decisions and can appeal them if they believe no violation has occurred. We will temporarily or permanently ban accounts and/or users that are involved in severe or repeated on-platform violations; we may also consider actions on other platforms and offline behavior in these decisions. Circumstances that involve any instance of a threat of real-world harm to human life that is specific, credible, and imminent may be reported to law enforcement authorities. The full Tripnly experience is for people 13 and older, and we actively remove accounts of people we suspect are under this age.

Our algorithms are designed with trust and safety in mind. For some content, we may reduce discoverability, including by redirecting search results, or making posts, videos, trips ineligible for recommendations throughout the app.

In some cases, we allow content for public awareness which would otherwise go against our Community Guidelines – if it is newsworthy and in the public interest. We do this only after weighing the public interest value against the risk of harm and we look to international human rights standards to make these judgments.

In consultation with relevant stakeholders, we update our Community Guidelines from time to time to evolve alongside new behaviors and risks, as part of our commitment to keeping Tripnly a safe place for inspiring travelers to discover more and make every trip count.

Be trustworthy

We require you to use your true identity on Tripnly, provide accurate information about yourself or your organization, and only share content and information that is real and authentic.

Keep in mind that, you own the content you post on Tripnly. Remember to post authentic content, and don’t post anything you’ve copied or collected from the Internet that you don’t have the right to post. Do not share content in a way that you know is, or think may be, misleading or inaccurate, including misinformation or disinformation. We may prevent you from posting content from sites that are known to produce or contain misinformation. Do not post “deepfake” images or videos of others or otherwise post content that has been manipulated to deceive. Do not share content or endorse someone or something in exchange for personal benefit (including personal or family relationships, monetary payment, free products or services, or other value), unless you have included a clear and conspicuous notice of the personal benefit you receive.

We don’t allow fake profiles or entities. Do not post misleading or deceptive information about yourself or your business. Do not use an image of someone else, or any other image that is not your likeness, for your profile photo. Do not associate yourself on Tripnly with a business or organization that you are not actually professionally associated with. Do not use or attempt to use another person’s Tripnly account or create a member profile for anyone other than yourself. And do not share your Trinply account with anyone else.

Do not use Tripnly to facilitate romance scams, promote pyramid schemes, or otherwise defraud members. Do not share malicious software that puts our members, platform, or services at risk. Phishing attempts are not tolerated.

Be safe

Only bring safe conversations to Tripnly.

We don’t allow bullying or harassment. This includes targeted personal attacks, intimidation, shaming, disparagement, and abusive language directed at other members. Do not reveal others’ personal or sensitive information (aka “doxing”), or incite others to do the same. You may not engage in trolling or other repetitive negative content that disrupts other members or conversations on the platform.

We don’t allow threatening or inciting violence of any kind. We don’t allow individuals or groups that engage in or promote violence, property damage, or organized criminal activity. You may not use Tripnly to express support for such individuals or groups or to otherwise glorify violence.

We have zero tolerance for content that depicts the sexual exploitation of children. Do not share, post, transmit, or solicit child exploitation material through or using our platform. Do not use Tripnly in any way to facilitate, encourage, or engage in the abuse or exploitation of children. When we become aware of apparent child exploitation, we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

We don’t allow any terrorist organizations or violent extremist groups on our platform. And we don’t allow any individuals who affiliate with such organizations or groups to have a Tripnly profile. Content that depicts terrorist activity, that is intended to recruit for terrorist organizations, or that threatens, promotes, or supports terrorism in any manner is not tolerated.

We don’t allow content that facilitates the purchase of illegal or dangerous goods and/or services, prostitution, and escort services. We don’t allow content that promotes or distributes fake educational and/or professional certifications, sale of scraped data, proxy test-taking, or instructions on creating forged official documents. You may not use Tripnly to hold lotteries, contests, sweepstakes, or giveaways. Do not use Tripnly to sensationalize or capitalize on tragic events for commercial purposes.

Be true and authentic

Tripnly’s mission is to inspire travelers to discover more and make every trip count. We are here to connect with other travelers, and share memories, useful details and localized recommendations but require them to be true and authentic. To maintain a true and authentic platform, members should treat each other genuinely and respectfully. Do not interact with others or share content in a way that’s uncivil, inappropriate, or disrespectful.

We don’t allow content that attacks, denigrates, intimidates, dehumanizes, incites or threatens hatred, violence, prejudicial or discriminatory action against individuals or groups because of their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age, or disability status. Hate groups are not permitted on Tripnly. Do not use racial, religious, or other slurs that incite or promote hatred, or any other content intended to create division.

We don’t allow unwanted expressions of attraction, desire, requests for romantic relationship, marriage proposals, sexual advances or innuendo, or lewd remarks. Tripnly is a travel platform providing a complete travel experience to travelers, not a dating site. Do not use Tripnly to pursue romantic connections, ask for romantic dates, or provide sexual commentary on someone’s appearance or perceived attractiveness. Do not send unwanted advances in messages, posts, or comments or send sexually explicit images to anyone on the platform.

We don’t allow content that is excessively gruesome or shocking. This includes content that is sadistic or gratuitously graphic, such as the depiction of bodily injury, severe physical or sexual violence. We don’t allow content, activities, or events that promote, organize, depict, or facilitate criminal activity. We also don’t allow content depicting or promoting instructional weapon making, drug abuse, and threats of theft. Do not engage in or promote escort services, prostitution, exploitation of children, or human trafficking. Do not share content or activities that promote or encourage suicide or any type of self-injury, including self-mutilation and eating disorders. If you see signs that someone may be considering self-harm, please report it using our reporting tools and consider also reporting it to your local law enforcement authorities. Do not share material depicting nudity or sexual activity.

We don’t allow untargeted, irrelevant, obviously unwanted, unauthorized, in appropriately commercial or promotional, or gratuitously repetitive messages or similar content. Do not use our invitation feature to send promotional messages to people you don’t know or to otherwise spam people. Please make the effort to create original, professional, relevant, and interesting content in order to gain engagement. Don’t do things to artificially increase engagement with your content. Respond authentically to others’ content and don’t agree with others ahead of time to like or re-share each other’s content.

Hopefully, you’ll take these guidelines as seriously as we do. For more information, please check out our Help Center and Terms of Service. If you come across content or accounts that you believe may violate our Community Guidelines, please let us know through the Messenger in the Help Center so we can review and take appropriate action.

Thank you for being part of our wonderful community and helping us create one of the best global travel communities in the world!
